Terms of Service for Better Bookmarks
Effective date: August 31, 2026
These Terms govern use of Better Bookmarks, provided by BetterBookmarks ("Seller"). By using the extension or purchasing Annual, the user agrees to these Terms.
Service
Better Bookmarks provides a browser interface for searching bookmark folders and links, detecting existing bookmarks, creating folders, and saving the current page. The browser and its bookmark synchronization service remain separate products controlled by their respective providers.
Trial
Each eligible installation receives one 14-day full-feature trial. No payment method is required to begin the trial. Seller may limit repeated or abusive trial creation.
Annual
Annual costs USD $12 per year and is billed once each year until canceled. The displayed USD $1.00 monthly amount is an equivalent comparison only; billing occurs annually.
The user authorizes Stripe and Seller to charge the selected payment method for each renewal. Taxes may be added where required.
Renewal and cancellation
The subscription automatically renews annually unless canceled before the renewal date. Cancellation stops future renewal charges and does not normally terminate access before the end of the paid term.
Cancellation is available by selecting Billing & invoices inside the extension to open Stripe Customer Portal, or by contacting betterbookmarks4u@gmail.com.
License
Seller grants the subscriber a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Annual for personal or internal business use during an active trial, paid term, or authorized grace period.
Users may activate their license on a reasonable number of computers they personally use. License sharing, resale, public posting, automated key generation, payment avoidance, and unauthorized redistribution are prohibited.
Acceptable use
Users may not:
- Reverse engineer the licensing service to bypass payment or access controls.
- Interfere with the extension, checkout, licensing API, or other users.
- Use the service unlawfully or to violate third-party rights.
- Submit fraudulent payment or refund requests.
These restrictions do not limit rights that cannot legally be waived.
User responsibility
Users are responsible for their bookmark data, browser account, synchronization settings, backups, device access, and license key. Seller is not responsible for bookmark loss caused by browser synchronization, account changes, device failure, third-party software, or user actions.
Availability and changes
Seller may improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue features. Material changes affecting paid functionality will be communicated when reasonably possible. Seller does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Refunds
Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy at https://better-bookmarks-4ng.pages.dev/refund-policy.html and applicable law.
Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the extension and service are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties not expressly stated in these Terms.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Seller's total liability arising from the service will not exceed the amount paid by the user during the 12 months before the claim. Seller will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-data damages where such exclusions are legally permitted.
Termination
Seller may suspend access for material breach, fraud, chargeback abuse, security risk, or unlawful use. Users may stop using the extension at any time.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Illinois, United States, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections remain applicable.
